The Shadow Do express combo is 1/2/elbow/elbow, leaving room for the two kicks here: outside crescent kick (Bai Muun Toy ((door closing kick)) and Nau Toy (twisted kick, which we call cross kick). The sequence is simple enough, and we build it quickly, so that we can get maximal benefits from the performance. We extend the drill reps for the kick combos and the hand combos because we can, which increases exercise intensity. HIPBOX employs the 5/6/3/2 (lead up/rear up/lead hook/cross) pattern. How this works in competition--the lead uppercut lifts the chin, and the rear uppercut rocks the head back with even more power, while angling the chin toward their rear leg. The lead hook comes across from the same side, spinning the whole head (with the chin already lifted up) to the opponents lead shoulder, allowing for the full lights out head snapping cross punch to the jaw as the finish. This combo is effective, tiring, and can be practiced to your own lead leg (for efficacy). PROTIPS: dip on a slight angle for each uppercut, spin viciously from the core and hips for the hook, then sit down onto the cross punch, connecting the pattern seamlessly!
